S3 Ministry is developing a transformative community on a piece of land in Nicaragua

Our Project

Located just a 4-minute walk from Iglesia El Camino Popoyo, a local church that serves as a spiritual anchor for the area. This land will become a safe, sustainable haven for Nicaraguan families, featuring homes for Shelter, spiritual support for Salvation through church connections, and a shared community garden for sustainability.

The project also includes clean water systems and a septic drain field to ensure environmental sustainability, embodying our mission of Shelter, Salvation and Sustainability.

Impact Statement

This project will provide Nicaraguan families with micro homes (Shelter), a faith community to grow in Christ (Salvation) and access to clean water and fresh food through the garden (Sustainability).

Our shared gardens will provide families with fresh, homegrown produce. The new water systems – including a shallow well, storage tower, and filtration– will ensure reliable access to clean, safe water. A septic drain field will protect the land and support long-term environmental sustainability.

By funding this project, you’re helping us eliminate the remaining $50,000 land debt and bring this community to life. Each home costs $10,000 to build and includes materials, skilled labor, clean water access, and security infrastructure.

Your gift helps break the cycle of poverty, as Proverbs 13:22 says,

‘A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children,’

by providing families with the stability to focus on God’s purposes instead of daily survival.

We’re Actively Building a Brighter Future

Initial groundwork is already underway as we bring Shelter, Sustainability, and Salvation to families in Nicaragua. Our vision is unfolding through The S3 Village – a walkable, Christ-centered micro community designed for connection, restoration, and daily fellowship. The layout features micro homes, a central water tower, shared gardens, and essential infrastructure, including a septic drain field, to support long-term sustainability.

Our Impact So Far

Since 2017, S3 Ministry has been actively building a movement of transformation in Southern Nicaragua. Over the years, we’ve built safe homes for women and children in crisis, partnered with local churches like Iglesia El Camino Popoyo, and launched discipleship initiatives that continue to bear fruit. We’ve installed clean water systems, developed shared gardens for food security, and led mission teams – both men’s groups and families – into hands-on service and relational ministry.

A Journey: From Survival to Hope

A single mother of three in Nicaragua once lived in constant fear. Her makeshift shelter – built from tin and mud – offered little protection during the rainy season. “I felt forgotten,” she recalls. “I was always wondering where we’d sleep if the rains came.”

Trapped in survival mode, poverty convinced her there was no future beyond each day’s struggle. But in 2023, S3 Ministry met her during a mission trip near Iglesia El Camino Popoyo.

Inspired by Luke 4:18 – “Jesus came to bring good news to the poor” – we partnered with local believers to build her a safe and stable home for just $10,000, funded by generous donors (Shelter). She became part of the church community, where she now volunteers regularly (Salvation), and she tends a garden plot that provides fresh food for her children (Sustainability).

“I used to think poverty meant I was alone,” she says, “but through S3, I found Jesus and a family.”

Today, her children attend school, and she dreams of a brighter future. Her story is just the beginning.

We need to raise $50,000 to pay off the land for The S3 Community – a walkable micro village where more families like hers can find safety, faith, and a future.

Leonte’s Moment of Grace

At 71 years old, Leonte had spent three decades working the same job, earning just $61 a month to care for five family members. His body was tired, but his spirit was still searching. When we met him on a quiet afternoon, he said he believed in God, but wasn’t sure where he stood with salvation. Pastor JJ gently opened the Bible to Ephesians 1:13 and read aloud. With tears in his eyes and hands clasped together, Leonte prayed to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

That day, hope found him. And heaven rejoiced.
